Après le rutilant succès du spectacle Birdhouse Factory, présenté à la TOHU en décembre 2008, l'incomparable compagnie américaine revient avec leur toute nouvelle création : Boom Town. Cette fois, Cirque Mechanics exploite le thème de la ruée vers l’or. Vous serez transporté dans une petite ville prospère en 1860 où les acrobates-prospecteurs vous surprendront par leurs prouesses. L'entreprise internationale compte 12 interprètes dont la majorité est issue du Cirque de Moscou, du Cirque du Soleil et du Pickle Family Circus. Un cadeau hors du commun ou une sortie en famille du temps des fêtes à ne pas manquer!
“Most cirque shows are set in a dreamscape, but we like to remain grounded in a real time and place, a world people can identify, and then reveal the potential for circus within that setting. We knew from the start that we wanted to develop acts that demonstrate the relationship between mechanical and acrobatic movement. We ask ourselves, ‘What mechanical apparatus approximates the motion of a gymnastic move – and how can we combine them?’ We don’t hide behind hydraulics and automation and technology. We bring it back to the most basic mechanical demonstrations. It’s like that book, The Way Things Work. We open things up to see the gears. That’s always a part of our goal.” Chris Lashua
