After sold-out shows at La TOHU in February 2010, Les 7 Doigts de la main are back for three shows only, fresh from a major European tour. This is your chance to remind yourself why they’ve become one of Quebec’s most beloved circus troupes.
PSY brings some of the darker sides of human nature together with the provocative and transcendent language of the circus arts. A hymn to beauty and to laughter, the show marries the body’s acrobatics to the acrobatics of mind and soul. This new show from the 7 Doigts Collective celebrates the courage and power that slumber within, helping us overcome our fears, beat back our neuroses, and surpass our own limits to soar!
Sitting in the quiet of a psychiatrist’s office, the voices in a man’s head instruct him to climb on a trapeze and hang by his toes; another man searches for his own identity in a crowd of masked faces, all upside down, balancing on their hands, one woman, whileconfronting agoraphobia, is lead to swing through the air…
The company once again has chosen to maximize their creativity and work in the manner they are strongest: as a collective, reuniting ideas and knowledge to the service of a multidisciplinary show. While Les 7 doigts de la main will write, direct and choreograph the production, on stage will feature an entirely new team of young, talented artists.
PSY delves into the murky world of the subconscious, depicting a rich psychological dreamscape through the often surreal, incomparable language of the circus arts.
