From the start, the Cirque du Soleil has been one of La TOHU's leading sponsors as part of its wider efforts to be an agent of change. It was while pursuing that goal that the Cirque du Soleil decided, in 1999, to ask its own private and public partners to get behind the creation of La TOHU. The Cirque du Soleil was, in a way, La TOHU's incubator. The company has always supported the La TOHU team, not only with donations to our activities, but also with invaluable advice, ideas and alternatives. The creation of the Cité des arts du cirque in Montreal and our becoming an international hub of circus arts would have been impossible without the presence, confidence and recognition of the Cirque du Soleil, with its already solid international reputation.
